The story of the tapestry return to the Serbian Royal Family

In 1986 my brother Slobodan Vasiljevic was enjoying a holiday in Serbia, During his stay in Serbia he purchased a gift for his father

Vladan Vasiljevic, the gift was a tapestry, made by the Serbian women from Lika as a present from Lika to King Aleksandar I as a wedding gift, a beautiful tapestry.

* The tapestry was taken from a museum in Serbia during World War 2.

* The tapestry was purchased from and old lady in Serbia , for $400 US dollars in 1986 By Slobodan Vasiljevic.

* SlobodanVasiljevic purchased the tapestry as a gift for his father Vladan Vasiljevic.

* The tapestry was returned to Australia in 1986.

* The tapestry remained in the care of the Vasiljevic family until 2006.

* My father Vladan Vasiljevic wishes where, for this tapestry to be returned to the Serbian Royal Family when the

Royal Family is returned to Serbia.

* Prince Aleksandar II came to Australia in 2006, This was the opportunity for the Vasiljevic Family to return the tapestry to its rightful owner.

* With the assistance of Stevan Sipka father Pavle Sipka , the Tapestry was taken to the St George Serbian Church at Cabramatta handed to the Vladika who returned the tapestry to Prince Aleksandar II.

*My Father Vladan Vasiljevic wish, have been completed.

* Vladan Vasiljevic (Dado) - Born 17th of March 1924 to Died 19th of July 2001.

for the over half a century tapestry to be returned to its fatherland. I would also like to thank your mother

Mara Vasiljevic who took care of the tapestry and made sure the tapestry was returned to the Royal Family.
